Urchin version 5 was first launched during 2004 and has become
very widely deployed by both individual web site owners and hosting
services who provide it as their standard web analytics package for
hosted clients.
Urchin version 6 was launched during April 2008 following a long
gestation and subsequent testing phase. Urchin 6 incorporates most
of the features of the corresponding generation of Google Analytics.
The main differences between Urchin 5 and 6 are as follows:
